ELIGIBLITY For JNMF Fellowship

The Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund offers an annual fellowship to a distinguished scholar in any field, encompassing both the sciences and humanities. The fellowship enables recipients to undertake rigorous research on complex technical subjects as well as contemporary Indian challenges. Candidates are selected based on their exceptional abilities and their commitment to innovative research. As Nehru recognized, the accelerating pace of knowledge necessitates dedicated periods of intellectual inquiry, even for the most accomplished scholars. Indian citizens are eligible to apply, and fellows have the autonomy to pursue their research at any institution within India.

Other Qualification Enrolled In PhD Programme

JNMF Fellowship Amount :

Between INR 15,000 to INR 18,000 per month

How to apply for a JNMF Fellowship

Applicants may send their particulars, under the following headings to Secretary, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund, Teen Murti House, New Delhi 110 001.

1.Bio-data, along with details of original work.
2.Experience in the field of specialization.
3.Project proposed to be undertaken (A synopsis typed in double space in not more than a thousand words)
4.A copy of recent passport size photograph.

Those in Government service, either in a State or at the Centre, should send their applications through proper channel.

The Fellowship Scheme is a continuing one and there is no last date for receipt of applications.

Application Form :

There is no printed form for application. The application may be sent in plain paper giving the following details :

1. Bio-data, along with details of original work.
2. Experience in the field of specialization.
3. Project proposed to be undertaken (A synopsis typed in double space in not more than a thousand words)
4. A copy of recent passport size photograph.
5. Undertaking in the following format to be submitted only after you have been awarded the Fellowship.
