These initiatives also promote the pursuit of research careers across a wide range of disciplines, including basic sciences, engineering, medicine, agriculture, and veterinary sciences, through the various components of the INSPIRE program.

About Inspire Fellowship 2024
The Innovation in Scientific Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) program provides an excellent opportunity for students to undertake Doctoral Research at any recognized university or institution in India.
The INSPIRE Fellowship offers support at a level equivalent to that of National Eligibility Test (NET) qualified candidates. This component of the INSPIRE initiative is designed to encourage students to pursue regular doctoral degrees in both basic and applied sciences, including fields such as engineering, medicine, agriculture, veterinary science, and pharmacy, following completion of a Master’s degree in Science/Applied Science/Engineering or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Medicine.
Eligibility for Inspire fellowship 2024
- INSPIRE Scholar secured minimum 70% marks (or CGPA equivalent) in aggregate at M.Sc. or Integrated M.S. / M.Sc. OR
- The candidate must be the 1st rank holder with at least 70% marks (or the equivalent CGPA) in postgraduate (PG) level exams in Basic/Applied Sciences, including Engineering, Pharmacy, Agricultural Sciences, and Veterinary Sciences, from any recognized university or academic institution in India (excluding autonomous colleges). OR
- 1st Rank Holder at University level examination in Graduate/Post-graduate Degree in Medicine only from any recognized Indian University or Institute/Statutory Body in India
Fellowship
The INSPIRE Fellowship 2024 provides financial support in accordance with the Government of India’s fellowship norms (Junior Research Fellowship/Senior Research Fellowship), along with a research grant for the candidate.
A total of 1,000 INSPIRE Fellowships will be available for eligible students under the INSPIRE Fellowship-2024 call. Each fellowship is offered for a maximum duration of five years or until the completion of the PhD, whichever occurs first. This fellowship is not applicable for students pursuing M.Sc., M.Phil., or M. Tech. courses, nor for those enrolled in integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Phil.-Ph.D., or M. Tech.-Ph.D. programs.
